Fitness Short Cuts: Calvin Klein SS16 #MFW

22 Jun

Calvin Klein Collection
During my 75 mins hot yoga class as I was trying not to break my neck holding crow pose while swimming in sweat, I realized I have a full body cross-fit workout to do later today and I haven’t even mapped out time to do my daily run. It was then I fully understood why big people are waiting on the overnight get skinny pill.

I like many of you just want to wake up skinny, with invisible love handles and a back of marble. After all, get fit quick is the American way, right?

Italo Zucchelli‘s latest runway show for Calvin Klein Collection exemplify how much we Amercian love the easy route. Americana never looked so clean cut and chic without being confusing or difficult as it do now. Accentuating the already muscled and toned models the easy everyday fabrics of khakis, denim and classic white tees help to create streamlined silhouettes, wide on top and slimmer on the bottom. Which was greatly help with semi flashy textiles and stunning precise craftsmanship cuts. Zucchelli’s genius attempt to reworked an American classic, (stonewashed denim) looked modern and minimalist.

This collection has the imagery of a person who wants to be fashion forward but find themselves being lazy when trying new things therefore, playing it safe.

You can either wait to purchase these looks next year are go out and create them now. Clean looks like this allows you to play with ornate jewelry, shoes, bags and hats, even funky eye wear.

Now, if getting striated thighs were this easy.

A tacky farmer’s tan, two sweat drenched oxford shirts and hair that’s hotter than two fat chick’s breast money no matter many different ways I style it. I’m so f#@king over summer already! I’m just going to stay in the gym and be naked till October.

Out trying to take pictures for an upcoming style post in 107 temperatures, before I could even get the lighting right I was soaked in sweat as my clothes were practically sticking to me. Between that, my face over producing oil and bracelets shining too bright from the sun’s reflection I decided to scrap the whole thing and just get back in my A/C car. However, that was a mirage because with the mercury at peak not matter how high I had the air conditioner running I was still sweating.

Not to mention with all this running outdoors I have serious tan that went from golden to crips. Thank you Skinny-Jesus for the reassurance of some thinspiration solace during this terrible salt stained season. Photographer Gregory Prescott has basically captured how I should be dressing this summer… in a pair of CK’s & sand. With the images he shot of the like granite body of Silver Models Chris Lylez I now will be re evaluate my summer attire.

Who needs clothing when you have quads and obliques like these? I’m convinced the summer isn’t for clothing its for neoprene, lycra, dri-fit or whatever quick drying polyester garments on sale at the sporting goods store.

I use to hate coming home as a kid to my mom and dad laying around the house in their underwear, now I get it! I salivated over the recent ss/15 and a/w14 menswear collections just like you (I already have my fall/winter diet picked out) but all that can stay on the thinspiration board because right now I just want to be naked at room temperature.

Fashion is postponed till the weather drops to 70’s degrees. Until then gawk at Chris Lylez and do some crunches… stay away from the cheese & bread. You’re welcome.

This season is plentiful with screen printing, graphic prints, geometric shapes and velcro sandals! Fusing style while keeping wear-ability, functionality and considering weather restraints or conditions is a feat in itself. That is why I’m alway over exhilarated like a 7 mile run enduse by 24 oz Monster energy “Zero Ultra” drink up when I see a fashion spread or collection that flourish in combining these factors beautifully.

Designers like Christopher Kane, Calvin Klein, Neil Barrett and Givenchy are all on trend with visually stimulating sportswear. I’m glad I wasn’t the only person who seen this during last year’s spring/summer shows, photographer Milan Vukmirovic did a brilliant job in rounding up these designers for the third issue Fashion For Men.

The athletic inspired garments are worn to perfection by the tall slim Chris Moore. Though, the weather may not permit me to dress up as often as I would like, I have been putting more thought into my gym attire. This spread has ‘thinpsired’ me to take a trip to the sporting goods store today. I don’t know if you’ve noticed but sports brand are really putting some thought into their sports/workout lines. Brands such as, Adidas, Under Armour and Nike have been giving an array of functional attire that comes in temperature functional textiles, cool styles and colors.

Mixing these rakish pieces with some of my ready to wear casual clothing have given me the ability to look cool while staying cool in the heat. Add an urbane sandal or jaunty sneaker then you’re ready!

What better way to celebrate the first day of spring other than burning 1000+ calories today for your pre-summer body? Oh yeah, drooling over the latest spring/summer 2014 menswear collections from Calvin Klein, Burberry, Givenchy, Gucci, Dsquared2, Roberto Cavalli and Dries Van Noten all draped on major thinspiration David Agbodji in March issue of GQ Espana. Snapped and clothe by obviously genius duo Giampaolo and Sgura Miguel Arnau.

Menswear is more than chinos and graphic tees! These images ‘thinpsire’ me to take risks this season with graphic/print paring, accessorizing and eccentric shoe choices. Or if all else fails stay thin and make sure I have a magnificent backdrop around me whenever the camera snaps. I hope you enjoy these pix as much as I do. These styles aren’t groundbreaking, it’s all about the styling. Spring is all about organizing (remember when your parents invented “spring cleaning”) and making room for the new bloom. Howbeit, a new style, lease on life or fitness commitment use the Spring/Vernal Equinox 2014 to blossom.

As the last remnants of winter melt away make sure your sluggish habits do as well.

Christmas is over; so what now? Did you guys get everything you wanted? Seems like the older we get the less festive we become, sometimes I feel like I missed Christmas altogether. Don’t you wish we can go back in time when Christmas gave you a rush of joy and excitement as a kid? I didn’t have the urge to go home and be with my family this year. I just wanted to spend it in my bed wearing my PJ’s, streaming Christmas movies on my laptop while stuffing my face with yogurt covered pretzels. However, I did get out and go to a couple of Christmas parties but I was extremely anxious the entire time to get back home in my warm bed.

I use to be very festive; decorating my apartment, putting up a tree and sending out Christmas cards. Now I just buy gifts for my nieces and nephew, mail them off and tada… Christmas! This year I wanted to do something different by celebrating Kwanzaa in addition to Christmas, the last time I actually observed the week-long celebration was in the fourth grade. Kwanzaa: A Celebration of Family, Community, and Culture may just be the boost of ‘thinspiration’ I need to keep this year’s momentum propelling right into the new year.

Let’s get into my look for a moment… I bought this Calvin Klein suit in April for Easter but went with another look. Though, its a very light weight spring/summer suit I decided to winterize it. I threw on this Converse bomber and my new Topman boots I bought for myself as a personal Christmas gift and of course no winter look is complete without a big winter scarf and beanie.

Still coat shopping and what are the odds that I find another editorial with David Agbodji modeling the latest American menswear outerwear in a Korean magazine “Arena Homme” shot by Shin Hyuna in New York… the irony. Nevertheless, outerwear is the important element of your fall/winter ensemble, its the first thing onlookers see when you enter a room, the only thing you notice while in the streets and it can either kill or save your silhouette.

As I ranted yesterday the coat of the moment is the full length coat or trench no matter the texture, color or mode. What I didn’t consider is that I’m 6 ft tall and for those of you that are a bit shorter and can’t quite pull of a full length coat, I suggest you go for a mid-length. You’ll get the same streamlined effect without being engulfed. Notice how Barry Marryshow styled the stilt model in different lengths, more so take a gander at the different aesthetics how they are paired with different types of shoes. You can find the season favorite to suit your fancy with ease.

Now the hard part is getting your cheekbones to protruded like the rawboned David Agbodji. I wonder what’s his secret because I’m down to 250 calories a day and 7 miles runs to no prevail. What do I have to do; start eating air?

Spending your weekend spending money online shopping? If your answer is yes, then no judgement from me. What else would you spend it on, food? Whatever, fall is here and winter is a random temperature drop away welcome to COAT SEASON! I love outerwear unless you was on some operating table getting holiday reunion ready you’d witness all the brilliant menswear coats, jackets and bombers sent down the fall/winter runways during London, Paris, Milan and New York fashion week.

The coat of the season and the one I’m bookmarking and sending to my checkout basket is the ‘full length coat’. Howbeit, in camel, fur, twill or wool this coat just secrete suave, urbane and jaunty. My favorite way to don this style of coat is with a simple turtle neck and a vibrant portfolio bag, though I adore a wide brim hat the two together sometime can come off a bit pimp like. Nevertheless, every male should have a coat like this in their wardrobe and right now I’m craving a camel coat. So how befitting was it that I can across an editorial in the FW13 issue of “Hercules” with my ultimate thinspiration David Agbodji styled by Miguel Arnau and photographed by Bruno Stab.

I don’t know what I desire more David’s chocolate skin or these endless options of luxury coats from Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Calvin Klein and Ports 1961. But what I do know is my favorite aspect about a full length coats is that you are guaranteed to look thin. You’re welcome.

Sneaky Eating

22 May

What’s better than burning 1700 calories in one gym visit? Nothing duh, skinny is amazing enough.

Nevertheless, yesterday after leaving another awe-inspiring gym session I somehow wondered into Marshall’s. Well, really I was there to get my mom a belated Mother’s Day gift being that I opted not to get her one since my nephew’s birthday was on the same day (I haven’t got him a gift either.) Per usual I was overwhelmed by the sales that I ended up buying myself three pairs of new shoes and my mom nothing.

I figured Mother’s Day is over she won’t miss a gift besides I got her a computer for Christmas she has yet to use so, I’m good till her birthday.

Back to my awesome finds; while roaming around Marshall’s trying not to walk into the ice cream parlor next door and ruin my solid workout by becoming jiggly.

Side note: cheat days are for those who are ok with being a grease ball forever.

Instead of buying a hot fudge brownie sundae with two scoops of pecan praline ice cream I procured these Puma Lab II FB, Calvin Klein Devin Blue Oxfords and Perry Ellis Saddle Oxfords for a total of $59.95.

The Pumas were originally $65 I got them for $19.99, the Calvin Klein originally $140 I paid $17.98 and the Perry Ellis originally $60 I paid $21.98.

See what happens when you don’t spend your money on junk food, you get to spend your money on more important things like shoes. These are some fun and stylish shoes appropriate for spring/summer. Once again skinny always win. Let’s just hope my mom doesn’t read this post and see where her Mother’s Day gift went.

Who am I kidding she would have to open her computer I BOUGHT in order to know.

Dress To Kill…Body Fat!

10 Apr

Anorexic Escapades_Dress To Kill Mag (1)

Spring is here, though you wouldn’t notice it here in Kansas with the freezing rain and all. Yesterday as I was prematurely packing away my scarves, sweaters and sweatshirts I made a note to myself; buy workout gear for spring. Low and behold Dress To Kill magazine obviously had me in mind with this fashion spread ‘Sports Chic’ in the Spring/Summer issue. This is what I think I look like when I’m at the gym.

One of my many motivational tactics to keep me sticking to my gym regime in this thin lifestyle is- fun fitness fashions. There is a saying “if you look great you’ll feel great and when you feel great you’ll do great,” I find this ideal when at the gym. Sometimes the gym can get a little mundane but if you add a little razzle dazzle you’re sure to make it to the weight-room more frequently to show off.

Now don’t be a dummy by wearing delicate designer clothing to destroy while pumping iron however, leave your “free with signature” tees for yard work or sleeping. Just simple solid color shirts in cotton, spandex or duo/dry polyester same with your bottoms. For legs days and cardio go for shorts or spandex, upper-body days a nice pair of long workout tights or track pants. Just make sure your shoes coordinate with your clothing as well as function over fashion. This is the only setting where this is acceptable but save your ratty shoes for rainy days. Invest in a good stylish shoe that happens to be great for running. Yes, your Jordan’s are acceptable. Don’t be too flamboyant but look well styled. Don’t be afraid to purchase some cool/fun sweat resistant socks if you must add a little flash.

Model Brian Shimansky is the perfect thinspiration in paring atheistic gear with latest spring trends. If you like to Instagram your workout looks like I do then take note. Just because you’re getting sweaty like a pig doesn’t mean you have to dress like one. Sweat in style, you never know who you’ll run into at the gym and if you’re like me you run your post workout errands in the same attire.

Style is being prepared for every setting. If you have fashionable specific work, party and church clothing why not some for the gym.

P.S. Tight, fitting or revealing workout clothing are for those with tight fit bodies, there is still sex appeal in well fitting workout ensembles too.

After sliding into these Levi’s 510 Super Skinny denim I knew they deserved a post. I feel ultra thin today and I couldn’t wait on my photographer so I had to take these pics myself. Also, the best purchase I’ve made in 2012 has to be Stella (my steamer) because I now can wear my cashmere sweaters again without fear of burning them or spending a fortune at the dry cleaners. In addition I’m having a good hair day. How is your hump day? Mine is thin and fabulous!
