Leftovers :-(

25 Apr

Anyone who knows me knows that I have been on a constant diet rollercoaster on my quest to be invisible. Currently I’m 6’1 and 175lbs.

B/c my mom and dad apparently breed Samoans I am not a naturally thin person so I pride myself on knowing all the diet tricks…

• Chewing gum instead of eating.
• Drinking two liters of cold Smartwater before a meal.
• Eating once a day.
• No more than 500 calories a day.
• Drinking a zero calories Monster energy drink before a 3mile treadmill run on 8.0.
• Sitting in the sauna 30mins after a meal/before bed.
• Brushing my teeth whenever hunger strikes.

Well I’ve noticed that this has rubbed off on my friends. Not the near death experiences but working out. It’s pretty sweet when my friends call me up for dieting advice and workout tips. In the last 4 months about four of my closest buddies have all joined gyms.

Every week I’m checking in on them as well as reading their Facebook and Twitter updates about their progress. But, as their waist lines evaporate mines have been retaining more water than a ShamWow!

I haven’t gained any weight that would be preposterous though I haven’t lost any, I have reached a plateau. Now staring at the scales of summer that consist of pool parties, visits home, weddings and summer vacations. I have a lot of people’s self-esteems to destroy. I can’t do this at a 32 waist.

Being thin in the fall/winter season is a piece of cake… you just don’t eat. However, spring/summer thin is totally different it involves weights, running and crunches.

So I’m going to challenge myself from April 25 to May 25. I’m going to dedicated myself to a 30day weight loss and toning regime.

I will post my progress and help any of my readers with theirs. If you want to join the torture (no one ever said dieting is pleasurable) just email me your stories at faboli85@gmail.com and I’ll post your momentum.

Remember nothing tastes as good as being thin & fit looks!

I read your blog, article and/or post! I must say you are an excellent journalist. I am impressed with your writing skills. So impressed that I’m going to join your campaign to tone my sexy body. A weight loss forum is a good avenue to share one’s knowledge, techniques and even your inspiration on losing weight. So what are WE waiting for? I’m signing up for the forum/group and I hope the experience benefits me. Joining a support group would keep me from feeling alone before, during, and after this important transition in my life. Most people could use a little encouragement sometimes. I’m seeking weight loss to keep me on the right track!

O, you are hilarious. BUT, I am seriously thinking of doing a 2-week fast myself. I want to challenge myself. I know water isn’t a problem, but I’m trying to decide between peanut butter and/or crackers (or can I do both?). I’ll be sure to check in on your progress & I’m sure it will be great motivation for me and my workouts.

And you’re right, losing weight in the fall/winter is totally different that losing weight in the spring/summer. In the fall/winter months, you can mask/hide your weight with those dark and earth tone colors but the spring/summer is all about bright colors, cargos, and no clothes for most of us. *chuckles*

Pick one don’t do both! They both are carb loaded I say peanut butter has more nutrients. Also eat it off a spoon peanut butter already has 190calories no need for any extras.

Let me know how it goes.

I can get the exercise together but not the diet. I’m not that much of a sloppy eater anyway but I can’t commit to a diet. I’m going to.. I hope.

      No you’re a spastic eater… feeding times are 6a.m. 12p.m and again at 6a.m.

      P.S.
do you really need those toppings and a drink?

I struggle with my weight all the time and you are right about summer is the hardest. What tips do you have for me? I am constantly trying to figure out the “easy” way. I have come come to find out there is not one.

Weight loss isnt easy by any means. Its disciple and a life style change. Its all about making smart choice. Like do you really need to park right in front of the store why not park in the back and burn calories by walking. Or do you really need a drink with that meal whats wrong with water? As well as why not just go to bed rather than staying up all night on Facebook the more you sleep the less you eat, the less you eat the less you weigh. Also a jog around the block would be great! oh and say good bye to condiments!

I very much enjoy reading your posts. I love your passion for fitness, considering Americans are increasingly becoming a nation of fat people. We need more people like you to motivate and educate people to adopt more healthier lifestyles. Keep up the good work!

Well i’ve started working out regularly. I count calories to (even though im sure i eat more then 500) and i do at least 1 hour of cardio 3-4 days a week. That’s the MOST your getting out of me Oliver. I work. I go to school…and i live with a naturally thin person who brings home the worst kinds of food at 12 am in the morning. Life isn’t fair. I’ve learned to say no…so over the past month and a half i’ve lost 20 pounds as of my last Sunday weight in. I have 25 more to go. Seeing how my father is probably half BEAR, i know I’ll never be able to get smaller then a 36 waist and still be healthy. And I’m fine with that, i actually like being thick. I just want to be fit. the only time i was smaller then a 36 was my Senior year in high-school (i was a 34) when i was taking addarral every day. I’ll just say my diet then, makes yours look like a day at a buffet.
